Notre maison
Our home is large, solid and surrounded by greenery. Rooms are well decorated and mainly spacious. there are three floors, plus the annexe, and two of the rooms have open fires (bit we do have central heating as well). The modern conservatory is double glazed (great in winter), but with plenty of windows for the summer.
A number of rooms are wooden floored (mainly original from the school), and there are many signs that this was used for 90 years as a small country school. Parking is very easy and plenty of it. We are along the A438 heading out of Hereford. A car is pretty much essential (though we are on a country bus route)

Just 8 miles outside the historic city of Hereford, with its cathedral, chained library and 'mappa mundi', the house was once a school for the loacl farmers' children. On an easy bus route, the house looks across files to the Brecon hills of mid-Wales. Fifteen minutes by car to Hay-on-Wye (the world renowned second-hand book centre), and 1-1 1/2 hours drive to Cheltenham, Worcester, Birmingham, Chepstow, Gloucester and Cardiff, there is always something to do. The house has a separate fully equipped annexe. Less than a mile to a good pub (for eating as well!) and just a mile to 'Oakchurch' farm and shop - you will never be short of fresh food.

Apart from the wedding in early September 2013, we are open to all suggestions of exchanges. We are both well travelled, as well as being hospitable; so, we don't always have to swap at the same time

We are hoping to attend the wedding in early September of our niece - to be held in San Juan Capistrano. Being able to combine this with a sea holiday in Laguna (or very near) would be wonderful

Qui sommes-nous ?
Keith and Janet: Keith is 55 and Janet 51. We have spent most of our working lives as teachers, but after some poor health we decided to slow down. Janet has opened her own childrens' boutique with a friend - situated in the oldest street in Hereford, and by the cathedral. Keith is now a school inspector. We have two grown up (well, in their 20's) boys, though we have also fostered over 30 children. Our only pet is a cat...now 12; he is very kind and sometimes brings us 'presents' from the fields!!
The house has a massive conservatory and a nice decking area. There is an office set up for work/internet etc. Neighbours (if you see them!!) are really nice and helpful. The house oozes charm; it was a school from 1869 until the late 1950's, and totally re-modelled in the early 2000's. It is a home, not a show house; it is here to be enjoyed
